Terms & Conditions of Service

1. Booking Confirmation & Payment Terms

  • Quotations: All rates are quoted in Euros (€) on a flat per-vehicle basis and remain valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

  • Securing a Booking: A private hire booking is confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from Redmond Chauffeur Drive and receipt of the agreed deposit or full payment.

  • Settlement: Full balance payment must be completed prior to departure or on the day of service via bank transfer or credit/debit card, unless commercial invoicing terms have been agreed in writing in advance.

  • Service Duration & Overtime:

    • Private day tours are scheduled for up to 8 hours.

    • Point-to-point and airport transfers are priced directly for the agreed journey.

    • Wedding bookings are contracted according to the specific schedule agreed upon during consultation.

    • Any journey extension or unscheduled waiting time requested by the client will be billed at an additional hourly rate, subject strictly to driver availability and statutory driver-hour safety limits.

2. Cancellation, Weather & Refund Policy

  • Cruise Shore Excursions (Cobh Port):

    • If your cruise vessel cannot dock at Cobh Cruise Terminal due to adverse weather, rough sea conditions, or official port authority cancellations, you will receive a 100% full refund.

  • Private Day Tours & Airport / Executive Transfers:

    • Cancellations notified in writing more than 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup: 100% full refund.

    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure or passenger no-show at pickup: Non-refundable.

  • Weddings & Multi-Vehicle Events:

    • Bespoke wedding and corporate event deposits are non-refundable once the date is secured, unless written cancellation is provided at least 30 days prior to the event date.

3. Limitation of Liability, Delays & Force Majeure

  • Operational Commitment:

    • All journeys are planned with generous safety buffers, and shore excursions are actively cross-referenced with live maritime port schedules.

  • Force Majeure:

    • Redmond Chauffeur Drive accepts no liability or responsibility for delays, missed flight connections, missed ship departures, or disruption resulting from events outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure). These include, but are not limited to: severe road traffic congestion, road collisions, road closures or mandatory police diversions, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, mechanical breakdown, passenger-requested route deviations, or uncoordinated delays at third-party venues.

  • Consequential Losses:

    • Redmond Chauffeur Drive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential economic losses, such as missed flight rebooking fees, missed cruise vessel transport/hotel expenses, or secondary travel costs.

  • Travel Insurance:

    • All traveling passengers are strongly advised to secure comprehensive travel insurance covering journey delays, flight cancellations, and missed departures.

4. Route Navigation & Discretion

  • The private driver retains full discretion over route selection, vehicle speed, parking stops, and timetable adjustments to prioritize passenger safety, road comfort, and punctual arrival.

  • Third-party attraction admissions (e.g., Blarney Castle, Charles Fort), meals, beverages, and guide fees are not included in private vehicle hire rates unless explicitly itemized on your written invoice.

5. Vehicle Presentation, Passenger Conduct & Safety

  • Non-Smoking Policy: In compliance with Irish law, smoking and the use of e-cigarettes/vaping devices are strictly prohibited inside all vehicles.

  • Seat Belts: All passengers must wear fitted seat belts at all times during transit in compliance with Irish Road Safety Authority regulations.

  • Passenger Behavior: The driver reserves the right to terminate service or refuse carriage to any individual displaying abusive, threatening, unsafe, or heavily intoxicated behavior without refund or liability.

  • Vehicle Damage & Valeting: The client/hirer assumes full financial liability for any deliberate or negligent damage caused to the interior or exterior of the vehicle by any member of their party. A mandatory professional valeting fee (minimum €150) will be charged for any interior soiling or spillage requiring commercial cleaning.

6. Luggage & Personal Belongings

  • Luggage capacity is restricted to standard allowances:

    • Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class): Maximum 2 large suitcases plus 2 carry-on bags.

    • Luxury MPV (Mercedes-Benz V-Class): Up to 7–8 medium suitcases/bags.

    • Excess baggage beyond vehicle boot capacity must be declared at the time of booking.

  • While every care is taken to assist with bags, personal belongings, cash, and electronic devices remain the sole responsibility of the passenger. Redmond Chauffeur Drive accepts no liability for items left unattended or damaged in the vehicle. Recovered items will be held for collection or forwarded at the owner’s expense.

7. Regulatory Compliance & Governing Law

  • Redmond Chauffeur Drive is fully licensed, audited, and compliant with all Small Public Service Vehicle (SPSV) regulations established by the National Transport Authority (NTA) of Ireland.

  • All commercial operations are backed by comprehensive passenger public liability and commercial motor insurance.

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland, and all parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
